11 FOREX Market Trading Hours
What are the FOREX Market Trading Hours? And are some times better to trade than others?
Even though the market is open 24 hours a day there still needs to be an open and close time. This is generally set as 5pm EST. So at 4:59:99pm the day will end and a new one starts at 5:00pm everyday.

It is also important to note that daylight savings (which I personally wish was outlawed) will affect your trading times. Most brokers will go off of USA EST. and when the US has their daylight savings it will affect your opening and closing times.
As we have discussed the FX market isn't dominated by a single market exchange but involves a global network of exchanges, banks and brokers all around the world. But as you can imagine the
majority of a currency’s transactions will be done during their own business hours.
- New York 8am to 5pm EST – USD or CAD
- Tokyo 7pm to 4am EST – JPY
- Sydney 5pm to 2am EST – AUD or NZD
- London 3am to 12 noon EST – GBP or EUR
Also any time these markets overlap, you will generally see the highest volume of trades. This is also important when it comes to the spread, in the quieter hours you will see a wider spread, so try an avoid trading in these times if you can.
