Log today
Enter your account value at the end of the day, plus any cash you added or took out. One row per day - saving a date you already have replaces it.
Day P&L = equity change − deposits + withdrawals, so cash you add or remove never counts as profit or loss.
Margin / Capital Requirement
What it does. For a cash-secured put the journal counts the full cash needed to take the shares (strike × 100 × contracts) as Capital at Risk. If your broker lends against your account (Reg T or Portfolio Margin), only part of that cash is actually held. This percentage scales Capital at Risk down to what your broker typically holds.
How to set it. Cash account: 100. Reg T margin: usually 20–35. Portfolio Margin: often 10–20. A quick way to check: divide the "maintenance / buying-power effect" your broker shows for one open put by the strike × 100.
Where it shows. Active tab → Cap at Risk and Margin Used (= Capital at Risk × this % ÷ your latest logged equity), and Base / Ann. ROC.
It will not match your broker exactly. Every broker calculates margin its own way - per-stock risk models, volatility and concentration add-ons, minimum charges, and changes during the day - so treat this as a consistent estimate for comparing your own trades, not a statement of your actual margin.
