Terms of Service

These terms are a contract between you and GLS Equity Limited, a company registered in New Zealand ("GLS Equity", "we", "us"), for your use of the website at glsequity.com and everything it provides (the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is - and is not

GLS Equity is a data, research and record-keeping tool for people who trade US stocks and options. It is not financial advice.

• GLS Equity Limited is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial advice provider or financial institution in New Zealand, the United States or anywhere else. We do not hold a licence to give financial advice and we do not give it.
• Everything on the Service - valuations, scores (including the Wheel Score), scanner results, option setups, calendars, learning material and anything we publish elsewhere - is general information produced by automated models from third-party data. It does not take your financial situation, objectives or risk tolerance into account and is not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold or trade any security, option or other instrument.
• You are solely responsible for your own trading decisions. Consider getting advice from a licensed professional before acting on anything you see here.
• Trading stocks and options involves a high risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Selling puts and calls can expose you to losses much larger than the premium received. You may lose some or all of your capital. Past results, including any figures shown in the journal, Performance tab or in our examples, do not indicate future results.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• An account is for one person. Sharing your login, or using someone else's, is not permitted. We may suspend accounts that show signs of being shared.
• We sign you in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep that mailbox secure; anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
• Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. Free and Pro plans

Parts of the Service are free without an account, more is free with an account (within the limits shown on the site, for example one watchlist and a preview of the scanners), and the full Service ("Pro") is a paid subscription. What each plan includes is described on the Pricing section of the home page and may change over time; we will not remove a paid feature you are relying on without notice.

4. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

• Prices are in US dollars and are shown on the site. Monthly and annual plans are available. Your bank may charge you a currency-conversion fee.
• Payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
• Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. By subscribing you authorise us to charge the payment method on file for each renewal.
• Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Manage subscription button on your account page. Your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for and you are not charged again.
• Refunds are described in our Refunds & Cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.
• Founder price. A limited number of early subscribers pay a reduced "founder" monthly price. That price stays in place for as long as the subscription remains continuously active. If it is cancelled or a payment fails and the subscription lapses, a new subscription is at the then-current price.
• Price changes. We may change prices. For existing subscribers we give at least 30 days' notice by email before a change takes effect at your next renewal; the founder price is not raised while it remains continuously active.
• Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails we will retry it and email you. If it cannot be collected, the subscription ends and your account returns to the free plan; your data is kept (see section 7).
• Referral credits, where offered, are applied to your future subscription charges only. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and may be withdrawn where we reasonably believe they were obtained through self-referral or other abuse.

5. Data sources and accuracy

Market, fundamental and options data comes from third-party providers (currently Financial Modeling Prep and Polygon.io) and from public filings. Prices may be delayed. Valuations, scores and scanner results are calculated by our own models on a schedule (mostly nightly) and can be wrong, stale or incomplete - for example when a company's filings are late, restated or unusual. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of anything on the Service, and you should verify anything you intend to act on.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, bulk-download or programmatically extract data from the Service, or access it by any means other than the website we provide;
• resell, republish or redistribute our data, valuations, scores or screens, or use them to build a competing product;
• share an account, bypass plan limits, or interfere with the Service or its security;
• upload anything unlawful, or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where an account is closed for breach, no refund is due.

7. Your content and your data

• Trades you log, watchlists, notes and settings are yours. You give us permission to store and process them to run the Service for you.
• You can export your journal at any time from the Performance tab. You can ask us to delete your account and its data by contacting us; we do this within 30 days unless we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
• Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service - its software, design, models, scores, screens, text and the GLS Equity name and logo - belongs to GLS Equity Limited or its licensors. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own trading research while your account is active. Nothing else is transferred.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but it is provided "as is" and "as available". It may be unavailable for maintenance, because of a data-provider outage, or for reasons outside our control. We may change, add or withdraw features. If we withdraw the Service altogether we will refund any prepaid, unused portion of your subscription.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, GLS Equity Limited, its directors, staff and suppliers are not liable to you for any loss of profits, trading losses, loss of data, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from the Service or your use of it, however it arises. Our total liability to you for anything connected with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law; where the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies and you are using the Service for business purposes, you agree that it does not apply.

11. Indemnity

You agree to cover us for any claim, loss or cost that results from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Service.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand and any dispute is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. If you are a consumer in another country, you keep any protections of your local law that cannot be excluded.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new terms. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.
